Thirty-two minutes out, Pickett CCC State Park is worth the detour for its quiet swimming spots — and worth remembering for later, since it's also one of the best stargazing sites in the region.
Evening: the sauna and the cowboy plunge
This is the part the trails were building toward. Back at Black Creek Treehouse, the covered lower deck holds a private cedar barrel sauna and a cowboy plunge pool a few steps apart. Heat first, then cold — the plunge is a real shock after a day on the trail, and that's the point.
